ELIGIBILITY: This prize drawing is open to legal residents of the U.S., who are 25 years of age and older. Employees of the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, its affiliates, subsidiaries, members, promotion and advertising agencies, subsidiaries and related companies and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings, and each of their respective spouses regardless of residence) and household members of each, whether related or not, are ineligible.

1. HOW TO ENTER/DEADLINES: Sweepstakes begins March 16, 2009 at 12:00:01 am Pacific Time (PT) and ends March 31, 2009 at 5:00:00 pm PT. To enter without purchase or obligation, comment once at this blog post with your preferred itinerary or write the name of the itinerary on a postcard along with your name, address, city, state, zip, day and evening phone numbers, email address and the words Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Big Smiles, No Miles Itinerary Sweepstakes and mail in a stamped envelope to: Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, P.O. Box 1770, Monterey, California 93942. Mail-in entries must be received by March 30, 2009.

Limit one entry per person and per valid and unique e-mail address throughout the duration of the prize drawing. If more than one entry is received from the same person or from the same e-mail address during the prize drawing, all entries from said person or e-mail address will be disqualified. Entries may be subject to verification prior to prize drawing. In the event of dispute, entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry, provided such person meets all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Without limiting any representations or warranties, the Sponsor has the right (though not the obligation) to, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, reject or remove from the Sponsor's websites, servers and computer systems any Entry that, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, violates these Official Rules or any applicable Sponsor policy or is in any way harmful or objectionable. Any entries not in conformance with these Official Rules will be disqualified. No responsibility is assumed by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau for lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries. All entries become the property of the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and will not be returned or acknowledged.

By submitting an entry you irrevocably assign to Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau the right to display, modify and edit your entry for the purposes of promoting and advertising your entry and the Contest. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Official rules including all eligibility requirements. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their names, images, likenesses, photo, voices, and biographical materials for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes by Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau, including but not limited to, any online announcements, without additional notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law. Entrants agree that any and all disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Entrants agree that the conditions of submission set forth in these Official rules, and all documents and agreements incorporated in these Official rules by reference, solely govern the relationship between entrants and Sponsor in connection with this Contest.

2. PRIZE: (1) 36-hour "staycation" based on itineraries posted at BlogMonterey.com. If hotels, restaurants, attractions or other aspects of itinerary are not available due to factors beyond our control, substitutions equivalent in value may be made. Total value of prize package not to exceed $5,000.

3. ODDS: The actual odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.

4. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS/CONDITIONS: Prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No substitution or cash equivalent of prize permitted. Prize is subject to space availability. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, and any other costs or expenses related to acceptance and use of the prize not specified including gratuities, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Package redemption will be based upon availability and expires as per dates in prize details. Certain restriction and blackout dates may apply. Winner will be notified by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau after receipt and verification of Prize Eligibility. Prize will be delivered to a winner's residence, approximately 6-8 weeks after notification by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Winner must take delivery within 30 days of notification of availability or prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.

5. DRAWING: Winners will be selected at random (under independent supervision) on or around April 2, 2009 by Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, P.O. Box 1770, Monterey, California 93942 from among all eligible entries received. The decisions of the Sponsor are final on all matters relating to the Contest and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. NOTIFICATION OF WINNER/AWARDING OF PRIZE: The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or a traceable form of delivery within 21 days of selection.

7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau is not responsible for any late, lost, incomplete or misdirected entries, or responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the prize drawing; any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access of the Web site; any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer(s) related to or resulting from participating in this prize drawing, or downloading materials from or use of the Web site. If, for any reason the prize drawing cannot be conducted as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau which, in the sole opinion of Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this prize drawing, Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the drawing and may conduct drawing and select a winner from among all eligible entries received for the drawing prior to the action taken. In no event will Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of access to and use of the Web site seemonterey.com, or the downloading from and/or printing material downloaded from said site. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on the site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
