We invite you to venture to some of Monterey County's most popular and remote trails and views without leaving your home!

Thanks to the Google Trekker Loan Program you can access panoramic vistas, trails and attractions throughout Monterey County on Google Maps' "Street View" feature. The Monterey County CVB teamed up with its neighbors to the north in Silicon Valley to utilize the Google Trekker device back in 2015.

The Google Trekker is a backpack-style mounted camera with 15 separate lenses that captures 360 degree photos every 2.5 seconds. The transportable aspect of the camera allows for an unlimited experience that captures every angle of each location.

Guides from Big Sur Guides & Hiking were trained and strapped to the 40 pound camera to capture footage of unique locations not accessible by car like Nepenthe in Big Sur and Old Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey.

The 360 degree panoramic perspective is just what we all need right now. Explore the peaceful footage and get some much-needed virtual inspiration.
