Menopause The Musical is coming to Salinas! Bring your gal pals for a night out at the Steinbeck Institute of Arts with this hysterical musical parody. 7pm, 940 N. Main Street, Salinas. $45-$115. Talented violinist Tim Fain presents “Portals: Multimedia Exploration of Longing in a Digital Age” at the Sunset Center tonight. Get out of the house and take a drawing course at the Monterey Museum of Art led by landscape artist Ann Thiermann. Get moving with guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District. This morning hikers will set out on Gregg’s Hill and Vista Lobos Trails for epic views of the Monterey Peninsula, including Point Lobos. The six mile hike is expected to last 4 hours. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and to bring water, snacks and lunch. 9am, Palo Corona Barn.. Free event. Interested in Monterey’s unique history? Stop in the Museum of Monterey near Fisherman’s Wharf for a short 27 minute documentary about the San Antonio de Padua Mission located in Monterey’s backyard, Jolon. “An Island in Time” displays various interviews from archeologists and art preservationists knowledgeable in the mission’s rich history. 1pm-5pm, 5 Custom House Plaza, Monterey. Free event. The Carmel Music Society presents the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra this afternoon at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
