The Monterey Symphony presents their spring concert Insight this weekend in Salinas and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Music from some of the greats like Mozart and Beethoven will be featured. Performances are scheduled for Friday at 7:30pm at Sherwood Hall in Salinas, Saturday at 8pm at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea and Sunday at 3pm the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea. $20-$78. Saturday

It's officially spring and the Museum of Monterey is celebrating with an afternoon of poetry and conversation with Russian-born Tatyana Apraksina. Today she will perform selections from her award-winning Russian-language cycle California Psalms. 2pm-4pm, 5 Custom House Plaza, Monterey. Free with museum admission.

Not one, not two, but five local bands are taking the stage at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur tonight! Performers include Range of Light Wilderness, Suzanne Vallie, Fletcher Tucker, YESWAY and Shay Roselip. 7pm, 48603 Highway One, Big Sur. $5-$15.

Bummed Carnival is officially over? Head over to new downtown Monterey hangout Bay of Pines for Brazilian Carnival Extravaganza Part II! The lively night will include music and dance performances from Kenny Stahl and the Brazilian All Stars. 9pm, 150 Del Monte Avenue, Monterey. $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Get your taste buds ready for the 24th Annual Great Taste of PG! Over 30 local restaurants and wineries roll out the red carpet at The Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach for an evening full of delicious food, savory wines and silent auctions. Participating restaurants include Big Sur Roadhouse, Victorian Corner and Patisserie Bechler. 4pm-7pm, 2700 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach. $55.

Discover Palo Corona Park by twilight with guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District. The 2 mile sunset hike will explore various habitats within the park and is expected to last 1.5 hours. 5pm, Palo Corona Barn, Carmel. Free event.
