Cherry's Jubilee Motorsport Festival
September 8–12, 2010
September's don't-miss festival for the car and motorcycle enthusiast is Cherry's Jubilee. For four days, classic cars, hot rods, and motorcycles will parade down Monterey County's most scenic roads, show off in neighborhoods like Oldtown Salinas, Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row and downtown Pacific Grove, and shine in the spotlight at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Passport to Cherry's
Warm-ups for the event begins on Wednesday, September 8 from 5-8pm, with the Oldtown Salinas "Passport to Cherry's" party. Visitors can sample food and drinks, with beer and wine for the grownups, at 15 participating Oldtown restaurants. Enjoy live music, classic cars and motorcycles and special activities for children. Win prizes in the first ever Passport Poker Walk!
For a full list of entertainment and dining information, to purchase passports, and for car and motorcycle participant information see the Oldtown Salinas website. For more information, call 831-758-0725.
Show 'n Shine on the Waterfront
Take a close look at classic cars during the Show 'n Shine next to Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Hundreds of cars will line up in the Waterfront parking lot from 3pm–7pm Thursday and 8am–11pm Friday. The slideshow below shows just a few of the cars from 2009's Show 'n Shine.
On the Road: Poker Runs and Car Cruises
Win prizes at the 2010 Cherry's Jubilee Poker Run! This year the Poker Run takes on an entirely new route, which will be kept under wraps until participants receive their maps on September 9 and 10. Participants can start their run between 8am and 1pm, and must finish by 3:30pm. Start early — you'll want to enjoy the scenery and make a lot of fun stops on this new route!
The Friday Car Cruise through Old Monterey provides the perfect old-fashioned setting to show off great classic cars. The cruise route runs from 5:30 to 9pm down Figueroa Street, Pearl Street, Alvarado Street and along the waterfront.
Saturday Night Show 'n Shines: Cannery Row and Pacific Grove
The Saturday night Show 'n Shine has gotten bigger and better in 2010, with two great locations: Monterey's Cannery Row and Pacific Grove's Lighthouse Avenue!
Classic cars line five blocks of Cannery Row starting at 5pm. Show off your car, admire the great autos on display, and enjoy great meals and great live music at Cannery Row's restaurants.
Pacific Grove's Lighthouse Avenue opens up this year for the classic cars of Cherry's Jubilee. Cruise the scenic Pacific Grove coastline. Then, starting at 5pm, pull up in the diagonal parking in front of the classic Victorian buildings of Lighthouse Avenue and show off your cars in "America's Last Hometown"!
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Events
The center of events moves to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 4:30pm, with a Show & Shine, Manufacturer's Midway, sports bar, live music, classic car parade laps and the chance to ride at high speed in a Porsche around the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race track.
On Sunday, don't miss the Pancake Breakfast, where pancakes are tossed from a flatbed truck to hungry car fans below. At 1pm Sunday is the big finale everyone has been waiting for: the Cherry's Car and Cycle Awards!
