Celebrate sustainable food and wine with the Monterey Bay Aquarium at Cooking for Solutions. Celebrity chefs known for their work promoting sustainable food will present demonstrations and host events. The event features the Food Network's Guy Fieri, Bravo's "Top Chef Masters" winner Rick Bayless, Honored Chef of the Year Suzanne Goin, and more!

Cooking for Solutions Gala

Sample sustainable cuisine from over 75 restaurants, as well as wines from 60 West Coast wineries, at the Cooking For Solutions Gala on Friday, May 21 from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Taste incredible sushi in the sushi lounge, get books signed by Suzanne Goin and Rick Bayless, and participate in a silent auction benefiting the Aquarium's Seafood Watch program. Tickets are $150 for the general public and $120 for Monterey Bay Aquarium members.

Celebrity Chef Cooking Demonstrations

Learn how to prepare sustainable seafood in your own home with cooking demonstrations from Anthony Fusco, Gerald Hirigoyen and Kevin Gillespie at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday, May 22 from 8 to 11:30am. The $75 fee ($60 for members) includes continental breakfast and a set of recipes to take home.

Sustainable Foods Information Fair

Get an education in sustainable seafood, sustainable wine and organic agriculture at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday, May 22 from 10am to 6pm. Celebrity chefs such as Sam Choy, Rick Moonen and Jesse Ziff Cool will give cooking demonstrations and talks. Guests can taste sustainable, wild-caught Alaska salmon. The fair is included in the cost of Aquarium admission.

Food and Wine Adventures

On Saturday, explore Monterey County with one of five chef-led Food and Wine Adventures. Tim McKee, Joanne Chang, Jim Dodge, Bruce Sherman, Suzanne Goin and John Ash will bring small groups on tours of various aspects of California food culture, including aquaculture, local produce, and winemaking. All tours include cooking demonstrations and gourmet lunches paired with premium wines, and no more than 40 people are allowed on any tour. See the official Cooking for Solutions website for details of each itinerary. Each tour is $225 for the general public and $175 for Aquarium members.

Members-Only Events

Monterey Bay Aquarium members can attend special members-only events throughout the festival. These exclusive events give members the opportunity to learn from the great chefs of the event in an intimate atmosphere.

On Friday, the VIP Program with Suzanne Goin and Rick Bayless includes cooking demonstrations, wine, hors d'oeuvres and a copy of Goin's book. The Premium Access Member Lounge during the Cooking for Solutions Gala gives members VIP access to the gala. It includes a half-hour reception before the event with Korbel Champagne and special hors d'oeuvres, access to the VIP Lounge throughout the event, a copy of one of Sam Choy's cookbooks, and the chance to close out the party with an extra half-hour in the VIP lounge after the gala ends!

Saturday's sold-out Sustainable Seafood Challenge with Guy Fieri and Sam Choy pits four great chefs (Jason Wilson, François Blais, Brandon McGlamery and Brandon Hill) head-to-head against each other. The chefs will compete to see who can create the best dish in four categories as Choy and Fieri provide colorful commentary. As you watch the competition, drink fabulous wine and eat hors d'oeuvres. Every attendee will receive an autographed copy of one of Guy Fieri's books.
