Since 1980, the Dixieland Monterey festival has been a wall-to-wall weekend of traditional jazz and swing. Nine performance stages operate simultaneously for three days, offering big band swing, traditional jazz, Gypsy jazz, Cowboy jazz, barbershop quartets, ragtime and more for the true jazz connoisseur.

Big Band Swing Party

Dance to a live sixteen-piece orchestra at the Big Band Swing party on Thursday, March 4. The party goes from 7:30 to 11pm at the DeAnza Ballroom at the Portola Hotel and Spa, where the ClickTrax Jazz Orchestra will play the most danceable big band swing. Tickets are $20 for singles and $35 for couples. Buy tickets at the door!

Exploritas (Elderhostel) Program

If you're 55 or older, learn more about Dixieland jazz at Hidden Valley Music Seminars. Professional musicians will teach classes on the origins and experience of Dixieland jazz. There will also be a course on wines, featuring the wines of the Carmel Valley region. The package includes classes, a hotel stay, and an All-Event Dixieland Monterey pass. Experience a full weekend of jazz with an All-Event Dixieland Monterey Badge for $90. Planning on dropping in for one day only?
