The Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival brings the music, dance and athletic events of the mystical lands of Scotland and Ireland to Monterey County August 6-7. The two-day event features fun for the whole family at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center.

Music and Entertainment

Pipes, drums and pageantry are essential to the Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival. Watch as pipe bands, drum majors and individuals compete to be the best of the best in their categories. There will also be a special contest in Scottish Highland Dancing.

Games and Athletics

Athletes from around the globe converge at the festival to compete in the Highland Games. Events include a caber toss, weights for distance, weight over the bar, heavy hammer, open stone putt, braemar stone putt and sheaf tos. There's also a special "Children's Glen" where kids can participate in several downsized versions of these athletic activities.

Athletes of another breed take front and center during the Sheep Dog Demonstration. Watch as these intelligent and highly skilled dogs gently herd sheep and ducks, under their handlers every command.

Tickets

One-day adult general admission passes are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Passes are available on the official Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival ticketing website.
