Indulge in fantastic food, great wines and exquisite scenery at the 2011 Big Sur Food and Wine Festival. Local restaurants, resorts and wineries from all over California will team up for dinners and tastings that showcase area produce and wines. Proceeds from the event benefit health, safety and educational programs in the area.

Opening Night - Thursday November 3rd
The Big Sur Food and Wine Festival kicks off this evening with "Gateway to Big Sur." This opening night reception will be held at the remarkable and historic Hyatt Carmel Highlands in Carmel from 6pm-9pm and will showcase several different wineries and chefs.
Friday Tastings and Special Events
Friday offers a "Hiking with Stemware" wine tasting where guests will enjoy a special hike and dinner at the Rancho Rico Barn. Dinner will be complete with wines from Chappellet Vineyards and a surprise guest!
The Henry Miller Library will light up the night with a special evening under the Silver Screen. There will be movies, music and a buffet dinner.
Saturday Tastings and Special Events
Saturday includes two different "Hiking with Stemware" events. On the Magical Mystery Tour guests will be driven down the Big Sur coast with stops at fabulous properties along the way to sample the best in food and wine. On the exclusive A Walk on the Wild Side Tour, 30 lucky guests will embark on a hike through the redwoods to a private home with stunning views of the coast. Did we menion that you will sipping on wines from River Ranch throughout the hike?
The Grand Public tasting takes place tonight at the Henry Miller Library from 11:30am-3:00pm. Enjoy a day in the redwoods with winemakers, chefs and other special guests.
Winemaker Dinners
Several Big Sur venues host winemaker dinners throughout the weekend on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Some events include live music, with limited seating. The official ticketing page will indicate the time and location of each dinner.
Dinner With Friends - A Benefit for Big Sur
Don't miss this year's Dinner with Friends at Ventana Inn & Spa. The night will begin with a live and silent auction with overnight stays, wine collections, private dinners and more. After the auction Chef Truman Jones will create a fantastic dinner paired with a selection of fine wines.
