Entitled the "Smile Recovery Program," the latest MCCVB advertising campaign reaches out to two markets to encourage visitation to member businesses now through the end of May, with additional impact for the brand and destination year 'round.
The bulk of the advertising investment for the spring program is directed at the Northern California market, specifically San Francisco Bay Area (including San Jose) and Sacramento. Advertising in regional print publications and newspapers, and online drives potential visitors to a landing page (SeeMonterey.com/deals) that promotes over 150 special offers provided by MCCVB partners. New in this campaign is an innovative web banner created by ad agency Mering Carson, allowing potential visitors to interact with the brand without entering the website landing page. The benefit, aside from interaction with the brand, is that it gives a sneak preview of campaign content and serves as a strong enticement to continue to click through to the landing page. The banner technology is also evident in the animation on the landing page, with a wink from the "Alive is the Air" ethos character.

In addition to the ads, a press release on the program will be distributed to media outlets across the state.
This program ends May 31.
New this year, the MCCVB launched a locals program, offering locals special deals and packages throughout the county. Advertising drives potential customers to a separate landing page (www.SeeMonterey.com/locals) that promotes over 100 partner offers. Print and radio ads promote the program to a regional audience.
