July 30-31, 2010
A tradition lasting for over a century, the Pacific Grove Feast of Lanterns is a community celebration. This two-day event in Pacific Grove includes a lantern pageant, a sock hop, children's activities, and a pet parade. Local high school students are named to the "Royal Court" and receive an academic scholarship.
On Friday, July 30th, enjoy the Feast of Lanterns Pet Parade. Pets will march the streets of Lighthouse Avenue beginning at 2:30pm. Also on Friday, dance with the Royal Court at Chautauqua Hall for the first ever Sock Hop. Party begins at 6pm; click here for ticket information.
Saturday is Pageant Day at the Pacific Grove Performing Arts Center. Children's activities will begin at 11am followed by the Feast of Foods at noon. Enjoy family entertainment and the Legend of the Blue Willow on Saturday as well.
Pacific Grove has a range of full-service hotels, quaint inns, and personality-filled motels, many of which are located within an easy walk of the Feast of Lanterns events.
