Del Rey Oaks Frog Pond Wetland Preserve
The Del Rey Oaks Frog Pond Wetland Preserve provides 17 acres of refuge for a wide variety of animals. Among the species that make their homes here is the Pacific tree frog. This small space supports a wide variety of environments, from wetland to grasslands. Admire the redwoods and the coastal oaks as you walk gently in this park.
Day Use
Paths provide peripheral access to the wetland habitat. The trail goes through overhanging foliage. It is available for pedestrian use only, and is a popular spot for dog-walking and birding.
Birding
Mallard ducks, warblers, bushtits, blackbirds and flycatchers all frequent this park. The Monterey Peninsula Audubon Society has scheduled several field trips here in the past. Map and Directions
From Highway 1, head east on Canyon Del Rey Road (Route 218). Access to the park is on Canyon Del Rey Road between General Jim Moore Boulevard and Highland Street.
