Come on out to the Salinas Valley Fair from 10am to 10pm on Thursday, May 12 through Sunday, May 15. Experience a traditional country fair with horse shows, a rodeo, bull riding, fair food and the Miss Salinas Valley Fair contest.

Competitions And Athletic Events

It wouldn't be a true country fair without contests in the arena to see who is the best in roping and riding! On Friday watch as contestants compete in team roping, break away roping, double muggin and wild cow milking. Saturday is a nail-biter as riders try to stay glued to their steeds' backs during the barrel race and bull riding. The Stampede Grounds is taken over on Sunday by Jaripeo, the Mexican Rodeo.

Entertainment

Children's activities in the past have included the Kiddie Korral, the Animal Adventures Petting Zoo, Kid's Karaoke, Guitar Hero, The Amazing Flying Carpet and the Trackless Train.

Tickets

Admission for 2011's fair at the door was $7 for adults, $6 for students 13 through 17, $5 for seniors 60 and over, $4 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for children under 6. Last year, Thursday all children 12 and under entered free, Friday all seniors 60 and over entered free, and Saturday all military and dependents with ID cards entered free.
