It's surprisingly easy to discover Monterey County on horseback. Numerous equestrian trails meander through diverse landscapes, from rugged mountain terrain to sandy beaches.
For an immersive vacation in the saddle, ride down to the V6 Ranch in Parkfield. The working ranch has over 50 miles of trails and a rustic feel - injected with modern luxuries - sure to appeal to the cowboy at heart. For a true Wild West experience, book a spot on their spring or fall cattle drives.
April through December, Molera Horseback Tours leads group rides from Molera State Park, 22 miles south of Carmel in magnificent Big Sur. Monterey Bay Equestrian Center can bring you for a ride on the beach, or on a horse-drawn carriage ride. Individuals and groups can be accommodated by all these providers.
If you have your own horse, Garland Park, Toro Park, Zmudowski State Beach, and Jacks Peak County Park have equestrian trails for your riding pleasure.
