First Night Monterey is the hub for a massive family-friendly NYE celebration. This year’s theme is “A FantaSea" and over 25 venues in downtown Monterey become the stage for this art and music bash. The event kicks off at 3pm and continues well into the New Year. Performers throughout the event include Blues at Eleven, Grumbling Ginger, James Hurley, the Monterey Bay Lion Dance Team and more. Don’t miss the Twilight Procession which begins at 5:30pm and makes its way down Alvarado Street. This parade includes everything from stilt walkers, giant puppets and dancers to marching moms. Fernwood Resort has planned out a spectacular beer tasting and dinner menu as well as live music throughout the night. Various brews will be perfectly paired with classic American and Mexican cuisines from 7pm-10pm. Afterwards enjoy live music from Beso Negro and the Dark Town Rounders. Classic rock band Cheeky Spanks creates a fun party atmosphere as champagne flows freely. The appetizer buffet, cocktails and dancing are sure to keep guests busy until 1am. The party kicks off with appetizers and a special 4-course dinner for two prepared by Chef Russell Young. The party will be rockin’ at the Embassy Suites with cover act The Joe Sharino Band. This New Year's Eve Ball starts off with a tasty three-course prix fixe meal including a double entrée of filet mignon and salmon. The night will include tons of dancing, party favors, a champagne toast and a balloon drop at midnight. Popular local music group the Chicano All-Stars ring in 2012 at Kula Ranch. The night begins with a scrumptious five-course dinner and a glass of champagne. Eat, drink and be merry at the Beachside Boardwalk Ball! The Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach transforms into a beachside boardwalk with carnival games, fair food and live music from the Papa Doo Run Run dance band. The Rio Grill Resolution Run kicks off at 9am sharp on New Year’s Day. The 10k and 5k runs are sure to get your New Year’s resolution off to a good start, with great views of Carmel to top it off.
