In the past 24 hours, two great acts have announced shows in Big Sur on October 1 and October 5. On October 1, former Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst will appear at Fernwood Resort supported by moody Brooklyn rock-roots band
The Felice Brothers. Special pre-sale tickets are available right now with a room or campsite at Fernwood by calling 831-667-2422; tickets will go on general sale on Monday August 16 at noon at folkyeah.com.
On October 5, Montreal legends Arcade Fire will play the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur. This show will be incredibly intimate compared to the rest of the tour; the Henry Miller Library has a maximum capacity of 400, as compared to other venues listed like Berkeley's The Greek (capacity 8,000) and Seattle's Key Arena (capacity 17,000+). Ticket sale dates for their Henry Miller Library show have not been announced; keep an eye on the official Arcade Fire site for more info.
