The sixth annual Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival wines into gear August 11 with three days of events including a Wine Maker’s Dinner on Thursday, Kick-Off Party on Friday and the main festival on Saturday.
Wine Maker’s Dinner: Thursday, August 11
The Steinbeck House Restaurant will host a Wine Maker’s Dinner on Thursday night, August 11 featuring an amazing three course meal with appetizers, all three courses and dessert each paired with a wine from Hahn Winery.
Kick Off Party: Friday, August 12
The Kick-Off Party on Friday night is also held in Oldtown near Gabilan and Main Streets and offers wine and beer tasting and live entertainment for only $10.
Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival: Saturday, August 13
On Saturday, there will be 15-20 brew masters represented at the Salinas Valley Wine & Food Festival which is spread out throughout a total of six blocks in Oldtown. The Saturday farmer’s market will be open as usual and will host some tasting locations.
A variety of foods will be featured, with many Salinas restaurants participating. There will also be food trucks selling goodies. Besides a plethora of wine and food, local bands will perform at several different locations throughout Oldtown.
In addition to the wine and food tasting on Saturday, there will be vendors selling all kinds of goods including arts and crafts and activities for the little ones in the Kid’s Zone.
Admission to the Kick-Off Party and to the festival is free, but tickets are required for food and wine tasting. It is recommended that you buy tickets early as they are limited in quantity and may sell out in advance. General Admission and Grand Tasting tickets can be purchased here.
