We knew that our hotels were "World's Best" and "Gold"-worthy, and clearly, both Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure agree with us! Seven of Monterey County's haute hotels appeared on Condé Nast Traveler's Gold List; seven luxurious lodgings received laurels from Travel + Leisure. Six of those spectacular hotels appeared on both lists! Monterey County only had one equal on the Gold List: New York, which also had seven hotels listed. In fact, the county bettered 44 of America's states! Monterey County's award-winning hotels, the Post Ranch Inn, Ventana Inn & Spa, Hyatt Carmel Highlands, L'Auberge Carmel, Casa Palmero, Inn at Spanish Bay, and the Lodge at Pebble Beach, made up 25% of California's total. Travel + Leisure's highly competitive and more domestically focused T+L 500 World's Best Hotels list also praised seven of Monterey County's top hotels. Monterey County beat out entire nations such as Austria, Switzerland, Japan and Spain. Congratulations to the Post Ranch Inn, Ventana Inn & Spa, Bernardus Lodge, Hyatt Carmel Highlands, L'Auberge Carmel, Inn at Spanish Bay and Lodge at Pebble Beach for this notable award!
