Nestled on the jagged coastline between Carmel and Big Sur, the Point Sur Lightstation was once the guiding light for many captains and ships in the 19th century.
Despite it's helpful rays, the area surrounding the volcanic rock experienced it's fair share of shipwrecks. Many believe that the lives lost in those devastating accidents continue to haunt the lighthouse on the hill with several documented eerie and ghostly encounters. Particularly, a tall man in dark blue 19th-century suit has often been seen lingering around the historic tower.
