CSUMB strives to reach the following energy conservation goals: promote the use of alternative transportation and/or alternative fuels, reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, increase on-site generation from 44MW to 80 MW by 2020, use 33% renewables by 2020.
InterContinental The Clement Monterey
Various energy-saving devices are utilized throughout the hotel which is managed by the Engineering Department. The laundry facility utilizes new ozone washing treatments for all linen, towels and bath robes. Guest room program in place to promote reduction of energy consumption, in regards to linen replacement, towel changes, and recycling.
Post Ranch Inn
In 2009 the Post Ranch Inn switched on a 990-panel solar array, the largest hotel solar project in California and one of the largest in the U.S. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the system is estimated to reduce carbon emis - sions by 611,000 pounds annually. That is equivalent to remo - ving over 50 vehicles from the road or serving nearly 39 U.S. households’ electricity needs.
