What Goes Where

For iOS and Android, What Goes Where App is Monterey County’s guide to help you determine how to recycle everyday materials. Plastic containers, pizza boxes, coffee cups, bags, paint – the app will guide you to curbside programs and nearby drop-off locations to maximize reuse and recycling options.

InterContinental The Clement Monterey

The hotel participates in regional recycling programs for plastics, glass, cardboard and other recyclable materials. The Monterey Regional Waste Management District has noted InterContinental The Clement Monterey for being the local frontrunner in these initiatives.

CSU Monterey Bay

Every building, residence hall and office on the CSU Monterey Bay campus has a blue recycle bin. CSUMB recently got a multi-family recycling grant from CalRecycle, and continues to decrease their waste by composting when possible. CSUMB also strives to promote use of environmentally preferred vendors, use recycled/reusable/refillable products and participates in CalRecycle "Buy Recycled" Program. Click here for more information.

The Portola Hotel & Spa

The Portola Hotel & Spa always purchases safe, sustainable products and materials, including recycled office supplies. Their onsite restaurants also serve local, organic, and sustainable cuisine, and use Bio-Pak take-out containers and compostable cups.

Monterey Peninsula Foundation AT&T Pro-Am

The tournament diverts 86% of its waste through recycling, composting and community donation of uneaten food.  88 tons of building of material (laminate, wood, and carpeting) are donated for reuse within Monterey County.  The Foundations works with an on-site sorting team for 10 days to ensure the waste is minimal and the impact on the landfill is as low as possible.
