Come to "America's Last Hometown" for an old-fashioned celebration with Pacific Grove's Good Old Days Festival. This small town shows off its big heart with the largest event of its kind in Monterey County. There's a parade, live entertainment on five separate stages, arts and crafts vendors, food booths, carnival rides, a classic car show, a quilt show, pony rides, a dance showcase and more! Over 1,300 of the nation’s top student musicians flock to the Monterey Conference Center to play their hearts out at the Next Generation Jazz Festival (NGJF). One of the most inclusive festivals in the United States, this “Super Bowl of jazz education” welcomes performances by middle, high school and collegiate groups of every kind: big bands, combos, vocal ensembles, as well as conglomerate bands. Friday-Sunday. 1 Portola Plaza, Monterey. Free event.

Get some inspiration for your next outdoor project at the Home & Garden Expo at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center where you can meet with local experts, view pop-up rooms for ideas, discover new products and services and attend home improvement seminars. Get a taste of the Next Generation Jazz Festival over drinks and tapas at Esteban Restaurant. Several talented young jazz musicians perform live in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. 5pm-7pm. 700 Munras Avenue, Monterey. Free event.

Grammy winner Steven Curtis Chapman stops by the Golden State Theatre this evening for his “SCC Solo Tour.” With over three decades of hits, this Christian artist is sure to put on an invigorating show. 7:30pm-9:30pm. 417 Alvarado Street, Monterey. $26-$75.

Introduce yourself to the powerful journey of yoga and meditation at the Monterey Sports Center. Today facilitator Katie Dutcher from the Monterey Bay Meditation Center leads guided meditations and mindful yoga to connect on a deeper level. 1pm-3pm. 301 E. Franklin Street, Monterey. $35 in advance and $45 at the door.
