The Monterey Symphony presents its third concert of the season this weekend in Salinas and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Music Director Farkhad Khudyev will conduct his own composition, written in honor of our 70th Anniversary Season: The Sounds of Eternity. Khudyev will also lead the Monterey Symphony in Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 7, Op. 92 and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, KV 622. Friday at 7:30pm at Sherwood Hall in Salinas, and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea. $20-$79.
Catch a performance of Heathers The Musical at the Golden Bough Playhouse this weekend. This hilarious and heartfelt show is about the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. Love Jimi Hendrix? Then you are going to love tonight’s event at the Sunset Center. Classic Albums Live Performs Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced takes classic albums from the '60s and '70s and recreates them albums live on stage using the world's best musicians. 8pm. Chocolate and wine; need we say more? Celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days late and join the Monterey Library for their Chocolate & Wine Tasting Benefit.
