Take a step back in time at the Monterey Rock n’ Rod event this weekend. The two-day celebration hosts an old-fashioned sock hop at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center on Friday and a car show showcasing hundreds of automobiles and live music at Custom House Plaza on Saturday. Friday from 5pm-9:30pm at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center and Saturday from 10am-6pm at the Custom House Plaza. $20 to the sock hop and free admission to the car show.

Head to the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur this evening for a West of Eden Dinner and Cabaret Show under the redwoods.
