All Weekend

Contemporary art, music and independent film collide for five days in Carmel-by-the-Sea during the Carmel International Film Festival. The festival features art in almost every medium including music, fine art and, of course, film. Other events include a Legends Dinner, a Beach Dinner, a Music Cafe and a variety of talks and panels. Event venues will be scattered throughout Carmel-by-the-Sea with the Sunset Cultural Center as the hub. Thursday-Sunday. Carmel-by-the-Sea. Various ticket prices.

Need a date night idea? Head to the charming Circle Theater for an enchanting performance of William Shakespeare’s Antony & Cleopatra. Don’t miss this epic love story, set in modern day, with a breathtaking pageant full of passion, intrigue, exotic locales and the larger-than-life characters! Friday

Join the producers from Garden Variety Cheese, Schoch Family Farmstead, Odonata Winery and Cima Collina Winery at Happy Girl Kitchen for a Cheese & Wine Celebration benefiting the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County. 5pm-8pm. 173 Central Ave, Pacific Grove. $45.

Kick off the weekend with live music, tasty treats and a glass of wine at Asilomar Conference Grounds during their weekly Fall Pop-Up Music Series. 5:30pm-8pm. 800 Asilomar Ave, Pacific Grove. Free event.
Calling all story tellers! The Pink Flamingo Theatre hosts their monthly Story Smack Down tonight featuring true stories from captivating storytellers. 7:30pm. 2115 North Fremont Ave #C, Monterey. $10 for audience.

Saturday

The City of Seaside's Pattullo Swim Center holds its annual Pumpkin Plunge today. This event also includes free recreational swimming and activities! Plunge for a pumpkin and decorate it using provided supplies. Pumpkins are $7 each.

The inaugural Blues & Brews featuring a number of area craft beer breweries takes today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This all-new event combines the legendary Laguna Seca Recreation Area with nationally known music performances, the area’s best breweries and delicious food experiences. 4:30pm-10pm. 1021 Monterey Salinas Hwy, Salinas. $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Come and enjoy a night of laughter and hilarity with the American Improv Theater Players at the Pink Flamingo tonight. Based in San Jose, The AIT Players are American Improv Theatre’s premier house team made up of very talented improvisors who have trained and performed in comedy theaters across the country. 7:30pm. 2115 North Fremont Ave #C, Monterey. $15.

Sunday

AIM for Mental Health hosts its 4th Annual AIM for Awareness Rally at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove today. Here they will raise awareness of the growing epidemic in our youth while featuring exhibitors, speakers, entertainment, refreshments, games and more. 1pm-3pm. 630 Ocean View Blvd, Pacific Grove. $25 for adults and $10 for 18 and under.
