Love food? Love wine? Love running? Love old-fashioned sailing vessels? Monterey County is your place to be this weekend! All you wine fans out there, don't miss the Great Wine Escape Weekend. The Big Sur Half Marathon brings runners from throughout the world to Monterey County this weekend. The Health and Fitness Expo runs Friday noon to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 6pm at the Monterey Conference Center. The half-marathon is sold out, but you can register on Friday in person at the Fitness for the 5K and 3K held on Saturday, November 13. On Sunday morning, be aware that several streets in Monterey and Pacific Grove will be closed for the Half Marathon. Get out there and cheer those runners on! Once you've worked out all those calories, you deserve a reward. Take advantage of Monterey Bay Restaurant Week! Over 25 Monterey County restaurants (click here for the list) are offering special prix-fixe menus priced at $25, $35 and $45. It's the bargain of the year — make your reservations now! The sailing ship Lady Washington (seen in the Pirates of the Caribbean films as the HMS Interceptor) will be at Moss Landing Harbor all weekend. The Adventure Sails are sold out, but you can still take tours of the ship on Friday from 4-5pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm for only $3. Marina celebrates its birthday this weekend with tons of events. Friday is a celebrity softball game and barbecue dinner (bring at least 2 cans of food to support the Thomas Carman Food Pantry and get $3 off dinner). Saturday don't miss the big birthday party from 10am-3pm, featuring free birthday cake and ice cream, live entertainment, contests and games, ethnic food booths, local arts and crafts, live animal demonstrations from wild Things, and a classic car show, all at Los Aroboles Sports Complex on Hillcrest Avenue. Saturday night, flash back to 1975 with a "Tie Dye Dinner and Disco Dance Party," featuring a 70s fashion show, live comedy, DJs and an AC/DC tribute band. Friday "Hawai'ibilly" band Lava Moon — think bluegrass with ukeleles — plays Fernwood Resort in Big Sur tonight. 9pm, Highway One in Big Sur, no cover. Saturday The Farm hosts their Day of Thanksgiving featuring an all-day vegetable treasure hunt for children, plus a pumpkin toss, target match and hayrides at 11am. 9am-6pm, Spreckels Blvd. and Highway 68, Salinas. Free to attend. Glowsticks are cool, but mushrooms that glow in the dark are even cooler. Psychos In Love sound like a Mexican encounter between The Ramones and the Dead Milkmen. Tan Sister Radio sound like a side project cooked up by Black Francis and Sonic Youth during a tequila binge. The three bands play tonight at Jose's. 9pm, 638 Wave St., Monterey. $5. Singer-songwriter Tom Faia has a vibe that's somewhere between Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.
