Every Friday through September the Carmel Plaza features live music and a featured restaurant and winery. Tonight the Dennis Murphy Band plays jazz and blues tunes while Manzoni Cellars and the Carmel Coffee and Cocoa Bar serve up delicious wines and refreshments. 5pm-7pm, Ocean Avenue and Mission Street, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Free event, food and drink package is $15.
The Allan Harris Band plays an intimate performance at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea tonight. The evening will begin with a fabulous BBQ and fine wine selections provided by Alan Silvestri. Afterwards Allan Harris and his crew will play favorites from music legend Nat King Cole. The event is limited to 100 guests. 6:30pm, San Carlos Street at Ninth Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $88-$178.
Love Monterey County wine? Then the Winemakers’ Celebration is the place for you! Today The Barnyard in Carmel will be full of local wineries pouring the fruits of their labor. Local restaurants will also be dishing up seasonal flavors with live music in the background to keep things hopping. 1pm-4pm, 26400 Carmel Rancho Lane, Carmel. $35 in advance and $45 at the door.
Enjoy some live music while getting your shopping done at the Del Monte Center in Monterey. This evening the musical group Entourage performs. 5pm-7pm, 1410 Del Monte Center, Monterey. Free event.

It’s 80s’ night at the Monterey Bay Derby Dame bout tonight. Sport your neon headband and poof up that hair for a battle between Team Metal and Team Pop. Doors open at 6:30pm, bout begins at 7pm, Water City Sports Center, 2800 Second Avenue, Marina. $15.
Pierce Ranch Vineyards near Cannery Row hosts alternative rock artist Yusif. Local musician Casey Frazier will kick off the night with some folk and Americana. So grab a glass of vino and un-wine’d! 8:30pm-10:30pm, 499 Wave Street, Monterey. $5, only open to those 21 and older.
Local reggae favorites, Jonah and the Whalewatchers stop by the Fernwood Tavern for a night full of great music and an all around jammin’ time mon’. 9pm, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur. Free event.
Kick off your Sunday morning with a hike through Frog Pond’s Urban Oasis. Guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District lead visitors through the Frog Pond in Del Rey Oaks to scope out some of the diverse wildlife. The 1.5 mile hike is expected to last one to two hours. Don’t forget to wear good shoes and to bring water and snacks. 10am, Frog Pong Trailhead, Del Rey Oaks. Free event.
The Monterey County Fairgrounds hosts the Z97.9 Summer Music Festival today. Don’t miss live performances from Motown group Hitsville USA and a tribute to The Beatles from Abbey Road. 12pm-5pm, 2004 Fairgrounds Road, Monterey. $5 and a canned food donation.
