Monterey celebrates one of its largest visitors today, the gray whale! Whalefest Monterey kicks off this morning with fun for all ages. Old Fisherman’s Wharf and Custom House Plaza host all sorts of fun events including a scavenger hunt, bocce tournament, remote control sailing regatta, historic walking tours, beach cleanup and more. 9am-8pm, Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey. The Monterey Museum of Art presents a special “In Conversation” with Paul Roehl. This Santa Cruz painter and printmaker will discuss his works and his inspiration from early 20th century California landscapes paintings.
