All Weekend
Fernwood Taven in Big Sur heats up this weekend for two days packed full of music during The Acoustic/Electric Festival. This event features bands that have made a name with West Coast music tastemakers by mashing up multiple genres for unique sounds, as well as the wild indie circus act BiG SuRCuS. Headline acts include Forrest Day, The Silent Comedy, Battlehooch and The Electric Remedy. Friday-Saturday, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur.

It’s the first Friday of the month which can only mean one thing, First Fridays Art Walk! Oldtown Salinas welcomes guests to enjoy live music, food and local art in a family fun atmosphere. 5pm-8pm, Oldtown Salinas. Free admission. Pierce Ranch Vineyards near Cannery Row invites you to “wine” down to music from Eliza Rickman. Keep your New Year’s resolution going with a hike in Carmel Valley. Today guides with the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District set out for a hike to Snively’s Ridge. The steep hike may seem challenging but the epic views of the ocean and valley will make it well worth your efforts. This 4.5 mile hike is expected to last 3-4 hours. Don’t forget to wear good hiking shoes, water, lunch and snacks. 9am, Garland Visitors Center, Carmel Valley. Free. Head over to London Bridge Pub and check out John Michael’s killer vocals.
