Dust off that kilt for this weekend's Scottish Games & Celtic Festival at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. This two-day festival is filled with Celtic music and dance, crafts, kids' games, sheepdog staging, clan tents, British food, and thrilling athletic events. There will even be over 80 bagpipers playing an array of wonderful Scottish and Irish tunes. CSU Summer Arts presents their month long series all July! Tonight renowned saxophonists Douglas Maske and Todd Rewoldt perform with pianist Rita Borden. 7pm, 100 Campus Center, Seaside. $15, $10 for students and seniors.


Lace up those hiking boots for a trek through the Frog Pond's Urban Oasis with guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District. Adventurers will experience a variety of habitats from wetlands to redwoods during the short hike. The 1.5 mile hike is expected to last 2 hours. Join the City of Monterey for the 167th Anniversary Commemoration of Sloat's Landing, when the American flag was raised at the Monterey Custom House and California became part of the United States. 10am, One Custom House Plaza, Monterey.
