The Golden Bough Theatre in Carmel-by-the-Sea hosts several talented tots in a performance of the AristoCats! This family (and feline) friendly Disney hit will be playing all weekend long. Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 2pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. Casanova Street and 8th Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $7-$20.
The Monterey Symphony presents Sunrise in Scotland with Music Director Karen Kamensek. Local bagpiper Paul Hodgins opens the night up followed by Hungarian cellist László Fenyö. The symphony plays works from Maxwell Davies, Schumann and Mendelssohn throughout the performance. Saturday at 2pm and 7pm at the Steinbeck Institute of Art and Culture in Salinas and Sunday at 3pm at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Various ticket prices.
Get them boots ready for the 4th Annual Monterey Bay Classic Livestock Show. This Saturday and Sunday the Monterey County Fairgrounds comes alive with showmanship and livestock. Bring the kids out for this free community event! 9am-4pm, 2004 Fairground Road, Monterey. Free event.
Join the Monterey Museum of Art for an “Evening of Lasting Impressions.” The Museum of Monterey La Mirada celebrates their newest exhibit, California Impressionism: Selections from the Irvine Museum, complete with opening remarks from James Irvine Swinden, live music, fine wine, martinis, hors d’oeuvres, a raffle and more! 6pm-8pm, 720 Via Mirada, Monterey. $100 for members and $125 for nonmembers.
The female power group Eroica Piano Trio give an intense performance at the Sunset Center tonight. The Grammy-nominated trio will play pieces from Eduard Lalo, Kevin Puts and Dmitri Shostakovich. 8pm, San Carlos & Ninth, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $41-$65.
Cover band A Band of Ninjas is back at Bullwacker’s tonight. Most known for their epic alternative rock covers this duo also throws in some pop, blues and classic rock. 8:30pm, 653 Wave Street, Monterey. Free event.
Local acoustic rock guitarist Rex Wheeler will be playing at the London Bridge Pub tonight. Grab a drink and enjoy! 9:30pm, 256 Figueroa St., Wharf #2, Monterey. Free event.
Crazy teams and individuals are down to get dirty today at the 7th annual Big Sur Mud Run in Seaside. Ambitious racers tread through obstacles, hills, walls and lots of mud. The event is currently sold out but spectators are encouraged to cheer on the gritty participants! 8am-noon, Freeman Stadium at CSUMB, Seaside.
In conjunction with their newest exhibit, California Impressionism: Selections from the Irvine Museum, the Monterey Museum of Art presents a lecture from Jean Stern. Mr. Stern will discuss how impressionism made its way to California in the 1890s and some of the most influential artists during that period. 11:30am, 720 Via Mirada, Monterey. Free with museum admission.
It’s another head-banging good time at Jose’s Underground Lounge tonight! Three metal bands take the stage including Cerebellion, Pride Subject and Granted Earth. 8pm, 638 Wave Street, Monterey.

Head over to Big Sur’s Fernwood Tavern for a live performance from AllofaSudden. The six piece American rock band is gaining momentum in California with their awesome harmonies and mad guitar, keyboard, bass and drum skills. 9pm, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur. Free event.
Join Casey Frazier at local watering hole London Bridge Pub tonight. Casey has been performing since the age of three and has since been able to fine tune his singing and songwriting skills in Americana and folk genres. 9:30pm, 256 Figueroa St., Wharf #2, Monterey. Free event.
For a lazy Sunday head over to the Mucky Duck in downtown Monterey for a little reggae from Tony Miles. 4pm, 479 Alvarado, Monterey. Free event.
It’s a dance party at MY Museum tonight! The first-ever Family Dance Party includes mixes from DJ Shake Your Groove Thing and delicious pizza. Does it get much better? Oh yes, there will be ice cream as well! 5:30pm-7pm, 425 Washington Street, Monterey. $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
