There will be special presentations, live music and presentations from aquarists who help raise these fascinating creatures. It’s the first Friday of the month which can only mean one thing; it’s time for First Fridays Art Walk at Oldtown Salinas. Several shops, galleries and open their doors for live music, refreshments, art exhibitions and lots of family fun. 5pm-8pm, Main Street Salinas. Free event.

Run in for the Fallen during a 10k run at scenic Fort Ord Dunes to honor the sons of Monterey who gave their devotion to their country in the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. All proceeds will go to charities dedicated to honor the memories of the fallen or assisting the men and women returning from war. 9am, Beach Range Road, Marina. $55 for general and $40 for active duty military.
