A celebrity from the Pirates of Caribbean is making an appearance in Moss Landing this week, and no it’s not Johnny Depp! The Tall Ship Lady Washington will be docked at the harbor in Moss Landing for walk-on tours. Adventure Sails will also be available for $39. November 13-19, 7881 Sandholdt Road, Moss Landing. $3.
Both professional and amateur golfers descend upon famous Pebble Beach for the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational. This tournament utilizes three of Pebble Beach’s courses including Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Del Monte Golf Course and the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Sunday is the final round where 32 professional and 10 amateur teams will compete for a piece of the $300,000 purse. Thursday-Sunday, Pebble Beach. Free spectating event.
The Monterey Conference Center helps runners gear up for the Big Sur Half Marathon with the Health and Fitness Expo! Here participants can pick up their racing bibs, check out some of the latest fitness gear and purchase any last minute race items. The expo is open to the public on Friday from noon to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 6pm. 1 Portola Plaza, Monterey. Free event.
Monterey Symphony’s conductor Max Bragado –Darman leads a beautiful piano set this weekend titled Power. Pianist Tanya Gabrielian plays melodies from Aram Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto in D-flat Major and more. Friday at 7:30pm at the Steinbeck Institute of Arts in Salinas, Saturday at 8pm at the Sunset Center in Carmel and Sunday at 3pm at the Sunset Center. $20-$78.

Can’t do the 13.1 mile half marathon on Sunday? Start off slow with the Pacific Grove 5K run this morning. The 3.1 mile course begins on Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove continues towards Lovers Point and loops around near Asilomar Boulevard before finishing at Lovers Point. There will also be a Just Run! Kids 3K event held at the same location. 8am, Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove. $30 for adults and $20 for those 18 and under (must be 5 to participate). Free spectating event.
The first-ever Monterey Wine Walk is today! Join 25 wine tasting rooms and other venues along Cannery Row for wine tastings, appetizers and live entertainment. Each Wine Walk ticket includes 12 sampling tickets, each ticket is good for (1) sample of wine up to 2 oz. and a Wine Walk map with all the tasting site locations. 2pm-6pm, Cannery Row, Monterey. $42.

Lace up those shoes for the Big Sur Half Marathon this morning! Thousands of runners will take to the streets of Monterey for a stunning 13.1 mile run and/or walk. The half marathon begins in historic downtown Monterey and continues to Cannery Row, down the shores of Monterey Bay, into downtown Pacific Grove, and back along the coast for a grand finish at Custom House Plaza. This event is sold out to participants but spectators are welcome to cheer runners on along the course.7am, Del Monte, Monterey. Free spectating event.
Explore some of the canyons and trails in Garland Ranch this morning with guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District. The 3.3 mile hike is expected to take 3 hours. Don’t forget to wear good hiking shoes and to bring plenty of water and snacks. 9am, Garland Visitors Center , Carmel Valley. Free event.
