Contemporary art and independent film collide for five days in Carmel-by-the-Sea during the Carmel Art & Film Festival this weekend. The festival features art in almost every medium including music, fine art, photography and, of course, film. Events will be scattered throughout the artist’s haven of Carmel-by-the-Sea with the Sunset Cultural Center as the hub for the event. Wednesday-Sunday, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Day Passes can be purchased for $50 and include film screenings that begin before 5pm. Historic and modern Porsche cars will unite this weekend on the tracks of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV will test the speed and agility of the fancy autos and their drivers. Fans will even have the rare opportunity to fraternize with some of the legendary Porsche drivers. Friday-Sunday, Highway 68, Salinas. 1-day general admission $40-$60, 3-day general admission $80. Hop on an Elkhorn Slough Safari tour this evening for a special hot chocolate sunset cruise. Enjoy the fabulous fall weather with cute sea otters and shorebirds out on the slough. 4pm, Elkhorn Slough, Moss Landing. $38.

Relax at Bullwacker’s on Cannery Row as Matt Masih and the Messengers perform on the patio. This six-piece jam band plays a little bit of reggae, soul, and funk. 8:30 pm, 653 Cannery Row, Monterey. Drive (or fly) over to Marina for the 12th annual Marina Air Faire on Saturday. Don’t miss the aircraft display and a special fly-in. After checking out the amazing air birds browse the classic car show and silent auction. By the end of the day, you may want to drop off those car keys and enjoy wine tastings from Hahn Estates, Scheid Vineyards, and Ventana Vineyards. 10am-4pm, Marina Municipal Airport, Marina. Get in the mood for fall at The Farm. The Fall Festival is great for the whole family and will include pumpkin races, hayrides, puppet shows and a scarecrow contest! 10:30 am, Highway 68, Salinas. Free admission.

Celebrate this year’s harvest at Earthbound Farm during the Fun Fall Festival. Kids can pick out their favorite pumpkin, taste test different squashes or learn how to make a doll out of cornhusks. 11am-3pm, 7250 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel. Free admission.

The Travis Larson Band entertains a crowd at Bullwacker’s tonight. If you enjoy rock and guitar fusion then this is the show for you! 8:30pm, 653 Cannery Row, Monterey. No cover. Jason Bond and the Committee make a special appearance at Big Sur’s Fernwood Tavern tonight. This local blues and soul group is comprised of talented musicians who have performed at some of the best musical festivals including the Montreaux Jazz Festival and Symphony of the Redwoods. 9pm, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur. What do you get you when you mix ocean conservation and Hispanic culture? You get Fiesta Del Mar! This great family fun event takes place at the Monterey Bay Aquarium all day today. Highlights from today’s program include live music, bilingual feeding shows, cultural dance and crafts. 10am-6pm, 886 Cannery Row, Monterey. Free with aquarium admission. Children under 12 admitted free. Bring the entire family out to the Monterey County Fairgrounds for a spiritual and uplifting outdoor concert. The Grateful Life Festival features desert rock music from Cedar-N-Stage, Cecil Allen and John Robertson.
