Monterey Bay Restaurant Week starts this Thursday! Several restaurants in Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel celebrate this culinary week with prix fixe menus ranging from $25, $35 to $45. Each eatery will provide 3-course selections with delectable appetizers, entrees and desserts options. October 18-25. Various restaurants throughout Monterey County.
The Monterey Symphony presents their first concert of the season Delicacy this weekend. Pianists John O’Conor and Heidi Hau perform works from Franz Joseph Haydan, John Field and Mozart. Don’t miss this special performance at the Sherwood Hall in Salinas on Friday at 7:30pm and the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. $20-$78.
Be prepared to be spooked at the Monterey Mirror Maze, haunted edition! Just in time for Halloween the confusing maze will come with a few extra gory and frightening surprises. Friday-Saturday. 751 Cannery Row, Monterey. $15 ($5 off with 3 canned goods).

Enjoy a casual hike this morning with guides from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District. Today hikers will explore the River Walk Trail in Garland Park. The 3.4 mile hike is expected to last 3 hours. Don’t forget to wear good hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. 9am, East Garzas Trailhead #1, Carmel Valley. Free event.

Can’t decide between beer or wine? Head to Oldtown Salinas today and try both! The Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival takes over several blocks of Oldtown for a fall fun day. Tickets include unlimited beer and wine tastings, a vintage car show and live entertainment. Food will also be available for purchase. 12pm-5pm. Celebrate the grape harvest at Cima Collina today. Today they host their 9th annual Harvest Party at their tasting room in Carmel Valley. The day will be full of wine tastings, cuisine from the Monterey Cookhouse, tractor rides through the vineyards and live music from the Long Distance Flyers, 1pm-5pm, 19 East Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley. $65.

Guides with the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District embark on a scenic journey through Veeder, East Ridge and Terrace Trails for views of the Redwood Canyon.
