Classic cars converge all over Monterey County this weekend during Cherry’s Jubilee Motorsports Festival. For five days, classic cars, hot rods, and motorcycles will parade down scenic roads and show off in neighborhoods like Oldtown Salinas, Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and downtown Pacific Grove. Spectators are invited to check out these vintage and rare motors on Thursday and Friday at downtown Monterey and on Saturday at Cannery Row and Pacific Grove. September 12-16, various venues throughout Monterey County. Free event.
Two of Monterey’s greatest assets combine this weekend during Art in the Adobes. Several art exhibitions and activities are held in the adobes that make Monterey so unique and rich in history. The four-day cultural festival will be full of exhibitions, lectures, demonstrations and children’s activities. September 13-16. Downtown Monterey. Performances of the Broadway and Disney classic Beauty and the Beast continue at the Outdoor Forest Theatre this weekend. Custom House Plaza in downtown Monterey hosts over 40 artists and craft-makers this weekend for the FallFest Arts & Crafts Faire. Not only can you purchase rare works of art but you can also enjoy plenty of food and live music. Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm. 4 Custom House Plaza, Monterey. Free event.
The Barynard in Carmel transforms into a beer lover’s paradise for the second annual Monterey Bay Oktoberfest. In German fashion, a large tent will be constructed on the grounds where there will be a menagerie of live bands, bratwursts, pretzels and beer, of course. Embrace the sounds of Mexico at the Mariachi Festival in Salinas this evening. The Steinbeck Institute of Arts and Culture hosts various bands including Mariachi Los Cachorros, Mariachi Mexicanisimo and Mariachi Nueva Generación. 4pm-10pm, 940 North Main Street, Salinas. $25.
