Brought to you by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau

To ensure that we collectively protect the health and well-being of all Californians; keep schools open for in-person instruction; and allow California's economy to remain open and thrive, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requiring masks to be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status, until February 15, 2022. This requirement will be updated as CDPH continues to assess conditions on an ongoing basis.  Read more here.

  • All individuals, including those who are vaccinated, must wear face masks indoors in public.

  • Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask outdoors unless a business requires their customers to.

  • Additional mask wearing exceptions and requirements by the state can be found here.

Please respect individual business requirements and inquire directly for information. Help us keep Monterey County beautiful by properly disposing of all trash including face coverings!

CDC Travel Recommendations

  • You do NOT need to get tested before leaving the United States unless your destination requires it

  • You still need to show a negative test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding an international flight to the United States

  • You should still get tested 3-5 days after international travel

  • You do NOT need to self-quarantine after arriving in the United States

For many, the holidays mean hosting dinners, attending parties and honoring long-time family traditions and customs. As we gather with loved ones, here are some recommendations for staying safe during the holidays.

As we begin to wrap up 2021, we are looking ahead at our calendars for 2022 and would like to inform you of some upcoming opportunities and get your feedback.

Earned Media Opportunities

Journalists and influencers are traveling and they are ready to experience Monterey County and write all about it! Hosting them is a great way to gain additional earned media exposure and promotion of your business, domestically and internationally. We would love to get a better idea on where your business is at in regards to hosting media, and how we can best work with you when these opportunities arise. Please take a moment to fill out this short survey.

Paid Co-op Opportunity

Starting in January, we will be offering a new paid media co-op focused on paid search engine marketing (SEM). The co-op was designed for MCCVB and its members to collectively partner on existing SEM strategy to promote our destination, offering a solution that is complementary rather than competitive. The goal is to create efficiencies when running SEM campaigns that include the broad search terms many of us are already buying. More information is available here, and questions can be directed to Marketing@seemonterey.com. If you are interested in participating in the co-op, please fill out this short survey.

Educational Opportunities

The Extranet can be daunting when you go into it for the first time, but it is such an important tool to use to ensure your listings are accurate and up to date, and so you don’t miss out on media leads and RFPs. Contact our Destination Services Coordinator, Krista Sherman, to schedule a one-on-one tutorial today at: Info@seemonterey.com.

Engagement Opportunities

After the holidays, we will be taking to the road and visiting our members. Each visit is about 30 minutes or so and are designed to give you the opportunity to educate us on your offerings and how we can best work with you. It also gives our team a firsthand experience to share when promoting your business to visitors, meeting planners and media.

Don’t have time for a formal visit? That’s ok! We are flexible and would like to invite you to be a part of our virtual “Meet-a-Member” platform. Meeting via Zoom allows you to reach more team members and engage with other MCCVB members as well. Every month we will highlight three members at a time. You will have 10 minutes each to talk about your business and answer any questions from the audience.

If you would like to sign up for any of our engagement opportunities, please contact our Director of Community Relations, Jeniffer Kocher at: JKocher@seemonterey.com.
