  Don’t miss the annual 4th of July celebration on Old Fisherman’s Wharf with lots of photo opportunities with fun Independence Day decor.
  
  New this year! Enjoy a free performance by the Loma Linda Academy String Orchestra hosted by Fisherman’s Wharf Association and Music Celebrations International featuring 30 talented musicians. In addition to their beautiful classical light repertoire, they will add some patriotic pieces to honor 4th of July. This outstanding show will be held at the Wharf from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in front of Rockfish Harbor Grill. Feel free to bring a folding chair if desired.
  
  According to Jon Gomez, M.Ed, “Music Celebrations International is proud to partner with the Fisherman’s Wharf Association to present the Loma Linda Academy String Orchestra for a 4th of July performance. Their tour has been a long time in coming as it was postponed for quite some time due to the Covid pandemic. This performance, however, is a fitting way to celebrate music and Independence Day with the Monterey community.”

  About Loma Linda Academy String Orchestra
  Loma Linda Academy has a long history of strong academics, with opportunities to excel in leadership, music, and athletics. The talented Loma Linda Academy String Orchestra is touring California this Summer.
  The Loma Linda Academy String Program is a unique offering for students at Loma Linda Academy and in the community who are interested in serious study of violin, viola, cello, and harp. Following the teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, students in the program participate in both weekly private lessons and group classes appropriate to their level. All of the private teachers hold degrees in music and have taken extensive training in teaching their instruments through the SuzukiTM method.
  Additionally, they have two orchestras: LLA Concert String Orchestra (Stephanie Kime Popa, director), which is geared toward intermediate level string players as an introduction to orchestral playing; and Loma Linda Academy Sinfonia (Stephanie Kime Popa, director), a more advanced level string ensemble.
