This exhibition is a fusion of painted art and wearable art. Edi's creations include images on canvas and clothes.

Experience the art's visual and tactile magic as Edi's artworks are transferred to fabric, adding movement and flow for the wearer in the form of scarves, kimonos, dresses, and more.

Like many emerging artists, she first focused on mastering techniques after a 30-year healthcare career. As she matured as an artist, she discovered that creating art was about breaking free from self-imposed limits, finding joy in the process, and embracing creativity in all its forms.

Art is not confined to canvases; it can be a whimsical cut-out cardboard or a fabric draped over an ordinary object. It can be playful, even childlike—reminiscent of the joy you feel admiring your child's first drawings.

Her artistic journey has shifted from personal achievement to a mission of sharing. She aims to make art more accessible—even those who may not consider themselves artists. She strives to help her gallery visitors rediscover the artist within and expand their understanding of what art can be.

Art is not exclusive; it is a part of our everyday experiences—whether it is gardening, cooking, styling, or simply living life with intention. Life itself is an art form—an expression of our innermost selves. It can be about joy, solace, and peace. She invites you to experience and celebrate imagination and creativity.

You can see more of Edi’s work at www.edimatsumoto.com or visit her gallery on Mission St. between 5th and 6th Ave., Carmel-by-the-Sea.
