On Monday, July 4, 2022, thousands of spectators will watch the star-spangled excitement of creative floats, specialty and musical units! This patriotic Independence Day parade will start at 10:00 AM sharp and is expected to take approximately one hour to pass along a route through downtown Monterey along Alvarado Street and wrapping around to Calle Principal.

Before the parade, the Monterey Firefighters Association hosts their Annual Charity Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station #11 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ($15 per person). The festivities will continue after the parade in the Memory Garden, behind the Pacific House, with Monterey State Historic Park’s Living History Day going from 11:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. (Admission is free - Donations are suggested). The day-long downtown Monterey celebration would not be complete without a visit to the lawn at Colton Hall with the City of Monterey’s Big 4th of July Celebration and Backyard Food Fest from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All events are held in downtown Monterey and are open to the public.

The best place to park on the day of the parade will be the West Garage, East Garage, or Lot 7 (enter on Pacific Avenue).
