On Saturday, April 26, 2025 Moss Landing Marine Labs will host its annual Open House from 9am until 5pm at 8272 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing CA.
The free event is open to the public and will feature touch tanks, educational speed talks, scavenger hunts, interactive exhibits and a silent auction.
The student-led Open House also offers the public a unique opportunity to tour Moss Landing Marine Labs and learn more about the unique marine research programs. Visitors will learn about everything from kelp forests to penguins in the Antarctic. There will be a silent auction and student-designed MLML merchandise for sale. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
Admission is free; however, donations are encouraged in an effort to support student scholarships, marine research equipment and field research. Donations can also be made directly to Moss Landing Marine Labs link here.
The mission of Moss Landing Marine Labs is to provision the marine scientists of the future. The facility includes an outfitted marine operations department, active research diving program and state of the art research equipment that allows for cutting edge research in a wide variety of disciplines including marine ecology, biology of marine plants, invertebrates, fishes, turtles, birds, mammals, oceanography, marine geology, chemistry and biochemistry. MLML provides the skills and training so students become successful scientists, teachers and resource managers serving societal needs involving marine issues.
