Rio Grill's Resolution Run

January 1, 2020

Carmel's Rio Grill gives runners the chance to get a jump start on their New Year's resolutions with its New Year's Day Resolution Run. Burn off holiday calories while helping children in need; all proceeds from the event benefit Coastal Kids Home Care.

Competitive runners can test themselves with a 10K footrace. Running just for the fun of it? Try the 5K run. The course begins at Crossroads Shopping Village in Carmel, and takes runners along trails and sandy beaches, all with views of the glorious Carmel coastline.

Participants' registration fees ($45 for adults and $30 for children on race day) include a prize drawing and a full brunch. The race begins at 9am. Register online from now December 30.

This run is only the first of many running events held throughout the year in Monterey County. Everyone has heard of the legendary Big Sur International Marathon and its sister race, the Monterey Bay Half Marathon, and the highly competitive multi-sport events Spartan Race and Monterey Bay Triathlon. More intimate running events punctuate the rest of the year, giving racers a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery at every time of the year.
