Big Surf is Pacific Groves original surf school. Boasting the thickest wetsuits and highest quality equipment of the area as well partnerships with many local businesses to provide discounted packages and services at unprecedented value. Teaching surfing has always been our passion and the surfing classes at Big Surf are customized to match each students skillset and experience. We provide all our students with an enjoyable surfing experience that they will never forget, while giving detailed instruction on key techniques. After just one lesson students should feel confident enough rent or purchase gear. You have come to the right place to learn to surf, and we can't wait to hear from you!

History

Big Surf was founded to bring unprecedented value to those wanting to get a complete understanding of the sport of surfing in a short amount of time. Our instructors have a lifetime of experience surfing as well as many other qualifications in sports, education, and mentoring. Speaking with many novice surfers in the years leading up to the creation of big surf, we found that many surf school were not teaching the techniques students would need to surf effectively on their own. Most schools put an emphasis on students riding whitewater waves, which are much different than the unbroken waves people see surfers riding in magazines and videos. Due to the different techniques being taught many surfers would struggle mightily when attempting to surf on their own, and in larger waves. We understood that there was a genuine desire from new surfers to truly learn everything they would need to know after just one lesson, and so with that mission in mind we started Big Surf Adventures.

Surfing in Monterey:

Monterey surf lessons are held at Del Monte Beach and Monterey Municipal Beach (the old fisherman's wharf)

Surfing In Pacific Grove:

Lessons are held at Asilomar Beach, and occasionally Lover's Point

Surfing in Carmel:

Carmel Surf Lesson are held at Carmel beach
