Know Before You Go

Flying to Monterey County

 Monterey Regional Airport is located just 10 minutes from downtown Monterey. New non-stop flights now include Portland (PDX), and Seattle (SEA). Charter and private flights are also available. Other large airports near Monterey County include Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC), located 60 minutes from downtown Monterey; and San Francisco International Airport, located 2 hours from downtown Monterey.

Getting Around Monterey

Monterey Airbus and Main Event Transportation offer convenient service to and from SFO and SJC.

Rental cars are available at the Monterey Regional Airport

Local bus transportation, provided by Monterey-Salinas Transit, is inexpensive and easy to use. 


Monterey County boasts a consistent mild climate.  Jackets and sweaters are always a good idea, you may want to consider walking shoes for activities.
