Stakeholder Corner August 2019

Welcome to the Stakeholder Corner!

I have had the time of my life here.  Being the President & CEO of the MCCVB is challenging, meaningful and rewarding.  In my 7.5 years here we have done a lot of great work together.

We have built a strong foundation for our organization.  We have built alliances and partnerships that leverage the investment, appeal and power of each individual entity.  We have grown the tourism economy by nearly 25%.  We have imagined, innovated, collaborated and created programs based in research and market intelligence.  We have trailblazed and established leadership on a global scale.

It has been an amazing journey, and I thank you for the privilege of this job, your partnership, and your support.

I wish you the best as you continue the good work of the MCCVB for the benefit of our community.

Sincerely,

Tammy

ANNUAL CHECK-UP TIME

The new year is here which means it's a good time to give yourself a check up.  Please take a look at your landing page on www.seemonterey.com and make sure your listing descriptions and photos are up to date.  If you need help with accessing the Extranet portal, please call us or send an email to: membership@seemonterey.com.

Also, if you haven't been in a while, stop by the Monterey Visitors Center located at 401 Camino El Estero.  Our Destination Specialists love being able to catch up with you.  It would also be good time to do an inventory check on your collateral.  Make sure we have enough of your brochures and rack cards on hand.  Having a special event?  Post a flyer on our bulletin board while you're there!

VISIT CALIFORNIA: DESTINATION STEWARDSHIP PLAN

Tourism organizations today—particularly those which have been very successful—are re-thinking plans in order to shift from destination marketing to destination management. This decision often results from a growing understanding of the need to balance a successful visitor economy with other factors such as the quality of life for residents, impacts on the environment and increased demands on infrastructure.

Visit California has partnered with Coraggio Group to develop California’s first statewide Destination Stewardship Plan. The plan will provide a framework to ensure the ongoing vibrancy of California’s travel and tourism industry.

Your input is vital to the success of this plan and will be used to shape destination management for years to come. Please take 10-15 minutes to complete the stakeholder survey here.
