stakeholder corner september 2019

Welcome to the Stakeholder Corner!

Dear Stakeholders,

Thank you for your support as I transition into the role of Interim President and CEO.  I am grateful and honored to have such an amazing opportunity.  I'd like to take a moment share a few notables we've had over this past month.

MCCVB was recognized with the Sustainability Advocate Award for 2019 from CalTravel. We received this prestigious award for our industry-leading work that has set an example for inspiring responsible travel.  While working to drive the economic benefits of tourism (heads in beds!) it is as equally important to maintain a pristine place for residents to live. Simultaneously, I had the opportunity to showcase Monterey County as a leader in sustainability, as a panelist at IMEX, alongside Positive Impacts. The standing-room only crowd was made up of corporate meeting planners who have been mandated to put on sustainable meetings and events. Talk about huge opportunity for getting heads in beds!

Currently we are working on closing out the first quarter of the fiscal year in preparation for the Quarterly Forum and I look forward to seeing you there and having the opportunity to work with you over the coming months.

-Rob
