The 55th Castroville Artichoke Festival is a commemoration of all things artichoke. The event has artichoke cooking demos, tours of artichoke farms, artichoke-themed art and souvenirs (and a contest to make art out of actual artichokes!), an artichoke parade, artichokes (and other vegetables) for sale at the farmers' market, a race through the artichoke fields, a classic car show, a wine exposition, and of course artichokes prepared in every way imaginable.

A tradition for over half a century, the Castroville Artichoke Festival takes over the Monterey County Fair & Event Center on May 31 and June 1, 2014. Open from 10am to 9pm on Saturday and 10am to 7pm on Sunday, the Castroville Artichoke Festival features foods and events all centered around Castroville's favorite food.
