Relay For Life of the Salinas Valley

The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is a global event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for all types of cancer, honoring every life affected. Since its inception in 1985, communities worldwide have united to remember loved ones and support efforts for lifesaving change.

During the event, participants take turns walking a track lined with luminaria bags, symbolizing hope and remembrance. The day begins with a celebratory lap led by cancer survivors, followed by a special lap for caregivers. Local entertainers provide ongoing motivation and energy. As night falls, a luminaria ceremony illuminates the track in a powerful tribute. Throughout the event, attendees are encouraged to participate in fundraising and advocacy efforts.
