VIN by the Sea is a family-owned restaurant at the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, blending the town’s timeless charm with a sophisticated wine and dining experience. Nestled on Dolores Street within the picturesque Su Vecino Courtyard, the restaurant occupies a former art gallery space. Inside, ocean-hued walls and a hand-blown Verona chandelier evoke an urban-coastal style inspired by San Francisco and New York. Beyond its intimate dining room, VIN by the Sea also offers outdoor courtyard seating, creating a relaxed setting where guests can bring their pets and enjoy Carmel’s open-air lifestyle.

The restaurant’s focus lies in curated small-production boutique wines from California alongside international treasures, with a special emphasis on grower Champagne. More than 50 selections by the glass and bottle ensure something for every palate, from crisp Chardonnays and refreshing Rosés to bold reds and elegant champagnes and sparkling wines—all served well into the evening. These pair beautifully with chef-driven coastal cuisine crafted by Culinary Director Paul Corsentino. With more than two decades of experience, Corsentino highlights seasonal ingredients in refined small plates such as sea salt mussels in ginger-miso broth, Parisian gnocchi with sweet corn and pancetta, and the signature VIN slider with dry-aged beef and red wine remoulade. Ingredients sourced from local foragers, fishermen, and farmers celebrate the bounty of Monterey while adding depth and freshness to every dish.
