Aging invites the community to participate in its annual Mom & Papa — Now Honoring Grandparents, Too campaign, a meaningful initiative that ensures seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Monterey County are remembered and honored during the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day season.
Through the campaign, community members are encouraged to make a donation in honor or memory of a mother, father, grandmother, grandfather or other loved one. Contributions help deliver hand-written cards to long-term care residents who may otherwise go unrecognized on these special days while directly supporting Alliance on Aging’s Ombudsman Program.
“A simple card can carry tremendous meaning,” said Michael J Donohue, Executive Director of Alliance on Aging. “For many residents, it is a reminder that they are seen, valued and not alone. At the same time, this campaign strengthens our ability to advocate for their well-being and protect their rights.”
